Beyoncé's career is no longer a family affair.
The pop superstar has ended her business relationship with her father, Matthew Knowles, who has managed the 16-time Grammy winner since she was a teenager getting her start with Destiny's Child in the late 1990s.
Beyoncé made sure, however, to emphasize that she and her dad are only parting ways "on a business level."
"He is my father for life and I love my dad dearly."
The sentiment was echoed by her dad, who issued his own statement declaring the decision "was mutual." Said the elder Knowles: "We did great things together, and I know that she will continue to conquer new territories in music and entertainment."
Beyonce is currently working on her fourth album and hasn't announced a new management.
Former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland & Michelle Williams cut ties with Knowles in January 2009.
