  • Celebs Celebrate the legalization
New York governor Andrew Cuomo signed New York's bill to legalize gay marriage in the state last night, and the celebs have been jumping for joy and tweeting about the marriage equality victory since!

Neil Patrick Harris tweeted this morning about his future wedding plans with David Burtka. "David and I did propose to each other, but over five years ago! We've been wearing engagement rings for ages, waiting for an available date," he wrote.

Lady Gaga, who's been an outspoken proponent of marriage equality, wrote: "I can't stop crying," she wrote. "We did it kids… The revolution is ours to fight for love, justice and equality. Rejoice, New York, and propose. We did it!"

Steve Martin tweeted to his pal and former Oscar co-host: "Alec Baldwin, now we can get married!" he joked.

"OK, but if you play that effing banjo after eleven o'clock," Baldwin wrote back. The actor then got serious to congratulate Cynthia Nixon "for all her hard work on behalf of marriage equality."

Katy Perry wrote on her page: "NEW YORK! I ♥ U! You're OFFICIALLY the coolest place on the planet! ! !"

Glee star Lea Michele also chimed in from Manchester, where the cast is performing on stage this weekend: "Proud to be from New York!! Such a beautiful thing!! So thankful and happy!!"

The historic passage of the bill was perfectly timed with the Pride festivities going on in NYC and other major cities in the US this weekend!
