Olivier Martinez finally confirmed what the press has speculated for nearly two months now - that he and actress Halle Berry are, indeed, engaged.
"Yes, of course it's true," he told the Miami Herald Saturday while promoting his new South Beach restaurant Villa Azur.
Martinez, 46, and Berry, 45, first met while working together on the 2010 film "Dark Tide," and have been quietly dating ever since.
But the two have thus far remained mum about the bauble on Berry's ring finger since it first made an appearance in January.
Previous reports identified the emerald-and-diamond sparkler as an engagement ring designed by Gurhan, but Martinez reveals that this was not the case.
"There is a jeweler taking credit for doing the ring and it's a lie!" he said, according to Us magazine. "They have nothing to do with this."
The ring is in fact a design by Robert Mazlo of Paris, whom Martinez referred to as "a real artist."
Back in January, the pair had fans confused when sources told TMZ that the ring was not an engagement ring, but merely a symbol of Martinez's commitment - though his ex, Kylie Minogue, took to Twitter to congratulate the pair.
Minogue and Martinez dated for five years before they split in 2007.
Berry has had two previous marriages, for four years with former baseball player David Justice in 1993 and with R&B singer Eric Benet in 2001. The two parted ways after two years.
She was most recently linked to Gabriel Aubry, with whom she has one daughter, Nahla, 3.
