La Toya Jackson has confirmed to the world that her brother Jermaine had a brief affair with Whitney Houston when she was starting her singing career.
The duo grew close while they worked in the studio between 1984 and 1985 and Jermaine later admitted he had feelings for Whitney in his autobiography but never admitted to the affair.
“In all due respect, I think Jermaine wrote that in his book to protect Whitney… He has admitted that they had an affair,” Latoya told the ladies of The Talk on Monday (March 5).
“I’m not sure if he was completely married (at the time),” she replied when asked if he was unfaithful to his wife at the time.
For the record, Jermaine was married to Hazel Gordy (Berry’s daughter) at the time and they divorced in 1988, three years after his affair with Whitney.
In fact Whitney’s 1985 hit, Saving All My Love For You, was written about the affair.
Whitney even picked a Jermaine look-alike to play her married lover in the video in which she plays a young singer working with her married producer and eventually falling in love and having an affair with him.
Jermaine produced a couple of tracks on Whitney’s 1985 debut album Whitney Houston and before that he recorded Take Good Care of My Hear, a duet with Whitney for his album, Dynamite (Jermaine Jackson) which was released in 1984.
