Lady Gaga has been forced to cancel her June 3 show in Indonesia amid fierce controversy from Muslim groups and political leaders who claim she could corrupt young concert goers. Despite her sold-out 52,000 seat venue in Jakarta, Indonesia, The "Born This Way Ball" won’t be taking the place.
Lady Gaga has been blasted for being a “vulgar singer who wears only panties and a bra when she sings” by head of Islamic Defender Front (FPI) Salim Alatas, it seems he isn’t the only one who holds these sentiments cause according to Reuters, three Islamic groups have shared their dislike of the pop star and one local conservative group calls Gaga “vulgar” and argues, “She stated she is the envoy of the devil’s child and that she will spread satanic teaching.” and as a result Gaga has been forced to cancel the concert.
The national police have now stepped in and denied a permit for the concert. It’s not the first time the singer has met with resistance from government officials on the Asian leg of her tour. Gaga’s opening “Born This Way Ball” show, on April 27 in South Korea, was restricted to fans over 18 years old.
