Allison Williams looked stunning in an emerald-green Oscar de la Renta Resort 2013 gown. I love the architectural neckline and peplum detailing on this look. A sleek chignon and smoky eyes finish the look. Fred Leighton drop earrings and a simple bangle are the perfect finishing touches. I’m so grateful that she resisted the temptation to add a necklace.
Heidi Klum looked very pretty in an Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2012 Couture gown, but the overall look and styling feels a tad one note. To be honest, I’m more than a tad bored. The Lorraine Schwartz earrings match the dress, which matches the Lorraine Schwartz ring, which matches the shoes and no doubt the clutch.
Sofia Vergara was a knockout as she shimmered in a teal-green Zuhair Murad gown. She did not stray from her favoured skin-tight fit, but I love that she played with a halter-top neckline, rather than her usual strapless look. Tumbling curls and Neil Lane jewels provided the finishing touches.
Julianne Hough opted for sparkles, sparkles and more sparkles, wearing a strapless seafoam Georges Hobeika Fall 2012 Couture gown. With the amount of sequins and paillette embellishments, I envision this frock on the ‘Dancing With The Stars’ dance floor. That comb-over faux-bob is just a bit too much for this look, as is the makeup. Soft Veronica Lake waves would have added a bit more polish to the look.
Hannah Simone chose a sunny yellow custom Emilio Pucci one-shoulder gown with a thigh-high slit. It’s such a sexy yet sophisticated look, but the tan lines are a bit off putting. Blunt bangs pulled half back and Lorraine Schwartz leaf earrings finish the look. What are your thoughts on the night’s yellow trend? Love it or leave it?
Julianne Moore wore a Christian Dior Fall 2012 Couture look. Her long-sleeved yellow Dior full silk skirt with a knitted cashmere top either wasn’t as sheer as the runway version or, unlike the model, she wore a bra with this gown. The actress kept her look simple, wearing Fred Leighton jewels. Loose red waves and a red lip complete the look.
Love it or hate it.
Julie Bowen relied upon Monique Lhuillier, who created this gorgeous lime-green draped trumpet gown from her Resort 2013 collection. The strapless gown was styled with a Swarovski gold metal ‘Star Collector’ clutch and Bochic earrings. Her half-up, half-down hairstyle gives the look a relaxed vibe with flawless makeup providing the finishing touches. Monique’s girls did her proud last night.
Christina Hendricks looked very pretty in a custom Christian Siriano strapless belted trumpet gown. Her silver gown was a perfect match for her alabaster skin and gorgeous red locks. With one of the most gorgeous figures in Hollywood, I’m thrilled that Christina has once again found a look to complement her beauty. A Judith Leiber clutch and Lorraine Schwartz jewels, including $1,850,000 earrings, provided the finishing touches.
Hayden Panettiere went with red-carpet favourite Marchesa for the occasion. Giving us our first red-carpet peek at the designer’s Spring 2013 Bollywood-themed collection, Hayden looked lovely in a gold-embroidered gown with blue tulle overlay. A voluminous topknot, unfortunately, adds a bit of unnecessary fuss to the look. A sleek ‘do would have been much preferred. A gold clutch completed her look.
Zooey Deschanel looked gorgeous in her custom Reem Acra gown. Her pale blue strapless sweetheart neckline tiered tulle gown has just enough old-school glam to fit Zooey’s aesthetic, but the modern laser-cut detailing has me dying for more. Fuchsia-pink lips and a bouffant low bun complete the look.
Nicole Kidman looked sensational in an Antonio Berardi Spring 2013 gown, which was presented exactly a week ago during London Fashion Week. Now that’s what you call fast fashion. Her white column dress which striking blue sequin embroidered details was worn without the matching bolero we saw on the runway, to reveal a sleek sleeveless look. Peacock-blue Christian Louboutin ‘Vampanodo’ sandals with a bow accent on the heel and Fred Leighton carved lavender jade-and-diamond pendant earrings completed her look. This is one of Nicole’s best looks in a while. So good that I’m willing to overlook that very familiar center-parted hairstyle.
Julianna Margulies on this occasion was regal and radiant wearing a Giambattista Valli Fall 2012 Couture gown. Her beautiful floral strapless gown was styled with Fred Leighton jewels and eggplant Brian Atwood ‘Karin’ platform sandals. Picking a best dressed from this event is going to be near impossible.
Emilia Clarke looked gorgeous wearing a white Chanel dress with purple floral embroidery from the Resort 2013. Nude pointed pumps and Chanel jewels complete the look. Emilia was easily one of the best on the night. I love that Chanel continues to take notice of up-and-coming actresses.
Kat Dennings fulfilled the brunette bombshell quota wearing a strapless J. Mendel Pre-Fall 2012 gown. The draped maroon goddess gown was a great complement for the actress’ fair skin and tumbling dark curls, plus the matching ruby lips are the perfect touch. However, I’m not a fan of the Wonder Woman bracelet. Gold Christian Louboutins complete the look.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus looked breathtaking wearing this custom Vera Wang gown. Her merlot classic mermaid gown was paired with oxblood Brian Atwood ‘Karin’ platform sandals and gorgeous Irene Neuwirth earrings. A sleek centre-parted chignon completes the look.
Tina Fey looked lovely wearing a maroon Vivienne Westwood gown from the designer’s Red Carpet Capsule Collection. The strapless corset gown with a black neckline with gold embroidery was styled with a Roger Vivier Boite de Nuit clutch and gold Jimmy Choo platform sandals. A chic updo and diamond statement jewels completed the look.
Padma Lakshmi rocked a Monique Lhuillier Resort 2013 strapless trumpet gown is to die for. The beauty is in its simplicity and relaxed styling. Opting for minimal jewels, natural makeup and glossy, wavy locks, the gown does all the talking.
Ginnifer Goodwin stood out andlooked stunning wearing a Monique Lhuillier Resort 2013 gown paired with Rona Pfeiffer and Graziela jewels. The summer loving of orange dresses continues, as Ginnifer’s orange floral embroidered sleeveless nude high-low-hem gown with an orange leather belt was one of the show stoppers of the night. Not many could’ve worked this look as effortlessly as Ginnifer. Her signature cropped ‘do, a Ferragamo clutch and coral Christian Louboutin ‘Bis Un Bout’ pumps complete the look. Monique Lhuillier is two for two at this event with each gown suiting the personality of the wearer.
Kate Mara stunned wearing a Badgley Mischka Spring 2013 gown. Her metallic gold-and-blush Chantilly lace fishtail gown has shimmering crystal and petal embroidery. The ethereal look was accessorized with Jimmy Choo ‘No Prive Strass’ heels and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. Petty pink lips and a braided side-swept bun with a loose wavy section tumbling down one side completed her look.
Lucy Liu sparkled wearing a silver Versace Fall 2012 gown. Her structured strapless gown composed entirely of round chain mail links with a fitted metal bodice was a bold, futuristic look for Lucy. Lorraine Schwartz earrings plus Giuseppe Zanotti metallic sandals and matching tube clutch by the same designer accessorized her look. A simple side-swept ponytail and flawless makeup provided the finishing touches.
January Jones didn’t let me down, wearing a showstopping Zac Posen Resort 2013 gown. While black tends to get lost in translation, the architectural details on this dress are hard to miss. I love the sleek, deep side-parted hair paired with the equally severe gown. The makeup and attitude are perfect for this look. Bravo Miss Jones.
Television host Ellen Degeneres and partner Portia de Rossi arrive at the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles September 23, 2012.
Kerry Washington rocked a Vivienne Westwood blush Sequin gown which looked fab against her skin tone. Keeping the neutral theme going, she styled her look with a matching Kotur clutch and a nude lip colour. Gold Christian Louboutins and Fred Leighton jewels completed her stunning look.
