AMERICAN PEOPLE PROMOTE GIRLS' EDUCATION IN TANZANIA.

On March 25, Ambassador's Self Help Grant Coordinator A. Mike Connors (center) and Deputy Public Affairs Officer Roberto Quiroz II welcomed Girls Education Collaborative (GEC) Executive Director Anne Robinson Wadsworth (left) and Shelby Deck (right) to the U.S. Embassy in Dar es Salaam. Ms. Wadsworth and Ms. Deck discussed with U.S. Embassy staff their visits to Musoma, Tarime District and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania from New York to promote girls education through GEC's programs implemented in partnership with Tanzanians. Ms. Deck, a supporter of GEC's work, is from East Aurora, New York and is Board President at the local Waldorf School. She came to Tanzania for the first time to meet GEC's partners and see where the school for girls is being built. The organization has partnered with the Immaculate Heart Sisters of Africa to support girls education in the Mara Region.
