The mother of Mikaeel Kular, the three-year-old whose body was found in woodland in Kirkcaldy on Friday night has appeared in court charged with his murder.
Rosedeep Adekoya (33), from Edinburgh appeared in private at the city’s Sheriff Court today (Monday) on charges of murder and attempting to defeat the ends of justice, prosecutors said.
She made no plea or declaration to the charges and was remanded in custody, pending further investigation.
Mrs Adekoya, who was arrested on Saturday and questioned by police in Edinburgh before being charged, is expected to appear again next week and this appearance will again be in private.
